I use the HKS control unit on our 1987 Turbo and have had no problems with it at all. I installed it in a couple of hours and it is all hidden behind the relay cover in the engine compt so the smog check folks can't see it. I have normal set to 1 bar and an over boost set to 1.25 bar for 8 seconds and I have only had to use that once and it sure makes a difference. Good luck.
