Hi everyone ! Maaaaan, this day is one of the worst in my life. Today I was driving my 1987 Porsche 944 , I was going about 25-30 mph on a third gear then I wanted to shift on the fourth but somehow I shifted on second... And baahh, trrrrr, I hear this embaracing cracking sound coming out somewhere under the car... I stopped and towed my car home.
So here is my question. What was that ? Did I kill something like the clutch or fork or gearbox or my tranny is dead now? I tried to run from first gear, the car goes about a few feet and then suddenly stops and rolls back like something got stuck somewhere in the transmission. Also when I put it on any gear and try to roll the car manually it rolls like it's in neutral. Please, if someone can help me solve this problem, it would be very nice of you. I am not a pro at cars so I am sorry for not knowing all that stuff. Also sorry for probably bad English.
