You aren't the only one that's disappointed. The car could have been a lot more, but it's just a filler, between the boxter and the 911. Top gear really hit the nail on the head:

Of course, Porsche isn't building cars only for fun. They are in it for the money. So, more power to them. I just miss the days when form followed function.
Looks aside, I would think that it lends itself well for a normally aspirated 911 engine transplant? Together with some weight reduction, it should make a great toy 20 years down the line.
Oh yes, the interior is HORRID!
