Congrats on the impending purchase, nostatic. My wet weather riding gear (I lived in Portland last year and commuted year-round by bike) consisted of a bicycle rain jacket ($50) and Aerostich pants. I wore latex gloves underneath my motorcycle gloves, and my Sidi boots always kept me dry. I also have an old TourMaster rainsuit (maybe about $60?) that's worked fine in the past. I always stayed dry. The only real problem would be helmet fogging, especially as I wear glasses. Contact lenses and some anti-fogging drops on the visor take care of that, though.
