I see what you are saying, it does look like the piston may have hit the head. I don't know what the clearance is in there, but if you think a rod bearing could have done that, if the piston hit the head, it would have caused the head to lift, making it look like a busted head gasket...

Dunno... Let's see the bottom end?
I'm guessing it is at that shop still?
