Not all 924's are the same - make sure you're looking at a 924S tranny from the 2.5L car. The 2.0L 5-speeds (there's 2 types) may look the same (one doesn't at all), but smaller shaft size as well as different ratios means no go.
Yes, the 924S should swap in OK... not sure the gearing is any different...
