On my old '83 I had 'upgraded' to the turbo mounts. It required nothing extra (except replacing the old nuts with new ones and washers).
Normally it would be just the passenger's side that needs the turbo mount, but since pelican only offers the 951 and aftermarket 'sport' mount, go with the turbo mount.
As for a way to check... Have to take them off and read the part number.
