Most 86's have both fittings side-by-side on the strut tower.
87+ sees the low side fitting located on the evaporator-compressor line, pre-85.5 sees it located on the compressor itself from what I understand.

Some parts-bin cars have multiple fittings.
My friend's 86 N/A had 2 high and 2 low fittings. High side fittings were on the strut tower, and on the hose between the condensor and receiver/dryer. Low side fittings were located both on the strut tower, and further down the line near the compressor. Perhaps there was some experimentation going on?...
