As you may remember, I went down that road with a previous 1986 Targa. I stripped it completely down in a storage unit in Cali with little more than a metric socket set. It was a lot of work, but you get to know the inner workings of a 911 intimately! I also managed to recoup much more than my initial investment, but it took a while. Here was the last piece to be sold, the shell:
