There was a guy in me area that was selling an 85 Carrera Coupe with the front/rear spoiler's, G-50 Conversion and a bottom-up full rebuild of the motor that was chipped and had high-compression pistons installed wit about 10,000 miles on it.
The seller (Who was the original owner) had a nice thick book of all the service from day one.
He was asking $14,000 for the car but the mileage was around 258,000.
I test drove the car and it was a blast. Just needed new suspension bushings and the interior was tired looking and the wear bars were showing up on the tires.
After about a year someone picked it up for $8,000 ( I should have waited
