As far as why I dont rebuild my engine after over 15 years of beating it to death..
Well my tired old engine still pulls very strong..If it aint broke dont fix it is my philosophy.
The car does not see the road that often maybe 300-500 miles a year so in reality it only has around 5,000-7,000 miles on this engine. I do regular service as required.
I also know that at Lemans and at Daytona these cars run at full throttle for 24 hours.. That means that they are at or near Redline for literally thousands of shifts with no problems. I beat my car when racing but that does not happen every time that I drive it..
That is also why Porsche has always been so successful in racing.. Reliability..
You cant win if you dont finish!
I also have rebuilt literally 100s of 356 motors that have been raced and with the exception of bearings and rings there is lillte or no internal damage.. unless they have been granaded or run low on oil..

Dude! I'd keep it if I were you. No B.S. - it sounds like a special car. I'm up for keeping what's special while getting rid of what isn't special. Not to mention, if your car can do all that you claim, I'm not certain others will understand how special it is, and from that, pay the money you want for it.
It's all about perception.
