try a product call duramix. its a two part urathane and the nomber 4126 i believe its called controlled flow or self leveling seam seal, check out the local paint shops or body shops, i used this on a restoration car and the good news is that it will flow into the gap and eliminate rust from formingm just mask off a 1/4 wide area on cowl and fender , put tape on inside of door and trough area of fender to dam up material so it wont run down jamb or into fender area, apply into seam to achieve the height you want not to much and watch it flow, once set up aprox 10 mins, temp has sometthing to say about set up times, then pull tape off and your done, can be panted or left black, if you want to leave it black paint car then apply, hope this helps steve
