I just took my cam tower off because of the same leak. I thought the leak was from the "valve cover gasket" (ha ha). Went ahead and pulled the cam tower off and found that the leak was acutually that little gasket at the back. I made my own and sealed it up with some silicone. You probably have enough room to replace it without pulling the cam tower.
