It's real important to know where it came from and what year it was brought to the US. Germany is rust city and the cars are driven hard there as well. Unless it came in practically new, I'd pass.

Another issue is mileage. The speedo is changed to MPH and there may be many tens of thousands of undocumented miles.

The euro cars are not considered "rare" but some performance oriented people think of them as being more desirable, as they often came with less options. I.e. no sunroof is practically impossible to find on US models. You don't have that bonus on this car though!

Remember that oil leaks never get smaller. A maintained car should not have any oil leaks. Unless the car is cheap - 12k or less, I'd pass on this one. Maybe prices are a bit higher in your location, but here in the Bay Area, that's a 12k car.
