I recently purchased a 1975 911 3.0.

But when removing alternator last week I discovered that it had the later Bosch unit with a built in voltage regulator. So I assumed it was an upgraded alternator on an older engine.

But then this weekend I went about changing the oil and discovered that the engine had no sump screen, it just had a bung to the left hand side of case. I believe this is a change porsche made quite some time after 1975.

Does anybody know what year and engine size this is. The case number is 930 101 104 5R and the fan casing is 930 106 667 4R.
