Remember the Gull wing "I just vomited a little in my mouth" post? Well ditto for me. I did it because not one of the prize winning covins looked halfway decent to me. I did it because the supermodel in the Covin pictures is gonna need a crowbar to take off her bottoms. I did it because I like (yeah you heard me say it) the idea of a replica , especially a 550 replica. Right now I'm weighing the idea of a 550 replica vs a really rusty 356 coupe to rebuild vs an early 911 targa to rebuild. But a 911 replica? I just don't understand it. You can get that same "I built it " feeling by buying a 66 for 5k and starting from there.

Sorry to the covin "I built it myself" guy but if you end up with a car whose quarter panels look like they were glued on as an afterthought like some of those pictures, you might want to blame it on someone else.
