"Playboy" has been in a very slow, but steady decline in circulation, as have most "old school" magazines. Currently, "Playboy" ranks #17 in the U.S. - just below "Newsweek" and just above "Cosmopolitan."
"Playboy" puts out about 3-million magazines each month (paid subs & verified circulation). By comparison, "AARP Magazine" does over 23-million copies monthly to rank #1.
I think, while Heffner was once a cultural visionary, he's now considered an anachronism. I mean, come on, what decade does he think he's living in?
Hugh's publishing "empire" is headed for extinction; he is too, but, he's had a hell of a life for a dinosaur.
