The safe way to do it is to cover your steering wheel, and then drill the center with a very small drill bit (That is smaller in diameter than the threads on the screw) dont go down too deep. Then go to pepboys (or what ever auto parts store is handy) and get you a small easy out. This will look like a drill bit in a way but has left hand threads. put this in the hole and begin turning it to the left with a small cresent wrench. If you do have room channel locks would be easier, but if not this will do the trick. Note: if you guys are not aware of these, they make them in all sizes big and small, come in very handy when you have say a broken bolt that goes into a aluminum block etc....
