Thanks Scott. Not sure from where I got that notion. In Sweden we have a saying (to boys when it is bed time): "Hands on the blanket"! Meaning you should not hide your hands under the blanket as you could secretly be performing the filthy art of mas-turbation. I believe particularly the Lutheran school does not approve. Why else, if not from religious roots, would mas-turbation be something rather shameful and embarrassing ? It is generally not an activity spoken about vividly in social contexts.
