Best concert I ever saw was Bob Dylan and The Band at the Chicago Stadium during the Rolling Thunder Revue tour back in the '70's. I think.

It was a huge place (gone now) but somehow I got good seats. I remember having to address the letter for the tickets to "Box Lunch" and I never did figure that one out.

Dylan was at a good time then with "Blood on the Tracks" out and "Desire" soon to come. Only thing that p!ssed off the crowd a bit was when he didn't do "Hurricane" that night. Joan Baez wasn't there that night but I think it was Roger McGuinn who did show up on stage. "The Night They Tore Ole Dixie Down" by the Band almost rocked the place as much as did "Like a Rolling Stone" by Dylan. Great memories.

About 10 years later saw Dylan in Peoria during his goofy religious period and it was so bad that we were making bets on what song he was singing.

But to me Dylan's genius is not his mostly poor singing and it's like what they say about Monet's paintings: If you want realism and perfect reproduction take a picture. Dylan doesn't do a "Greatest Hits" show!
