1969 was such an inbetween year. It was a 2.0 but magnesium cased. It didn't have "that much" more appeal than the standard or E. In my opinion the 69S is the worst year of the S cars. Many people I have spoken to agree that a 69 S is not the direction to take for desirability. I wouldn't pay any more for a 69S engine than I would a standard 69 engine. I would certainly pay less for a 69S engine than ANY aluminum 2.0 from an earlier 65-67 whether or not it was an S or not. I think that will help you value it much more objectively.
