Definitely try a test removal as that wood is out of place imho. 3M may make a product to remove thier glus also. In the event you damage the surface, at least you are comfortable in that you are willing to put Alum or Cf in its place. Good Luck with it and keep us posted. My vote is for some brushed alum /Tony
