I think you are correct. Pelican has had trouble with the US supplier(s) of these parts. You might get yours from Autofarm, Mittelmotor or others nearer the UK. I would most likely prefer the short weld across the pans. The longer the welded seam, the more welds, the more to distort, etc. I've just not seen the long option.
