Pelican Community Charity Build

Greetings All,

Several weeks ago, I was struck by the possibilities this community represents. We are all a part of a large group consisting of people from every corner of the world with automotive experience ranging from novice mechanics to near "John Glover Level" bodymen. As a community, we hold the power to be a force for good in this world while we pursue our passions. I know there have been a few charity drives in the past, but the idea that really compelled me to move forward in this effort to gauge interest was the thought of a community build; this would mostly involve labor, not cash donations, and would directly link to our interest in the marquee.

The idea is to restore a Porsche vehicle (preferably a 911) as a group, farming out individual pieces to members across the globe and, once the project is finished, auction the vehicle off for proceeds to benefit a charity of our host's choosing (to be named before we begin the project, for those of you who may disagree with the choice). As this would not be possible without member support, I'm taking this opportunity to gauge interest in the project before moving on to the next stage of planning. Anyone interested in a particular aspect of this project should simply make note of it in this thread. I thank you all for your attention to this matter and hope you'll find it a worthwhile pursuit.
