Pretty sure it can be done. I haven't done it, but I've had a couple old Porsche mechanics say it can be done, but weren't too specific on how, guessing ...

A) Press out the spline from one and press in the spline from the other.

B) 4 rivet looking things hold the whole back "tube" of the steering wheel to the front part, drill them out.

C) I have some extended steering wheels, and the extension bolts to what looks like the rear of a normal wheel.
