Kathy - that black car wasn't my first Porsche, this one was:

It needed so much cosmetic work that my wife gave me permission to look for another car (the black one) to put the drivetrain into. My son took on the job of bringing back the paint on the black one and succeeded in giving me a nice gift in the process. It ended up a shiney black sunroof coupe!
Old car restoration is a great way for dads to get involved with their kids, if the kids are willing to partake in the adventure. We were given the yellow Alfa as a finders fee. Sold it for $300 less than we paid for the blue Alfa. We then horse traded it for the brown 912. I bought the black 912, my son and I switched all the mechanicals over from the brown one and we horse traded it away.
Talbot is now in the garage and is everything I'd hoped for in a specialty car.
Larry - I look forward to catching up with you soon.
