If the need for a proportioning valve is really called for, most of the people I know use an aftermarket manual one. There are two basic types, one has a knob and the other is a lever and both can be installed inplace of the original one or in the console. If the car has a tee in place of the original one and stock brakes then I would be surprised one would be needed. If big brakes are put on and/or there are racing events done in rain or snow then removing some real brake is handy. Racer Parts Wholesale is a good source for them as they just bolt in.
