When I expressed this thought to Ben (M&K Mufflers) concerning the thought that an early M&K 1-in-1-out was a little too tame, he brought up the idea of modifying my muffler with a right side exit pipe that wouldn't be visible because I too, didn't want to cut the valence. I would also have the option of capping the right side if I wanted a quieter exhaust for something like a longer trip. Seemed like a good idea and I would have done it, but I ended up backdating the system with SSIs which seemed to take care of the "tame" factor.
