Broken Alt tie rod : (

So I finally get the head rebuilt,Belts and rollers done, replaced all vacuum lines with a Lindsey racing kit, installed an upgraded headlight wiring harness and put it all back together.... Took one very long deep breath (this is the first car, let alone Porsche 944 I have ever worked) turned the key and.... It din't even blow up or catch fire! lol

It did however have a "that s just not quite right" sound to it coming from what I thought was belt rollers. I localized the sound to the alt tie rod tension do hicky. Which was broken at the threads closest to the passenger side. So my question is what would have cause this? It was fine after I tightened the belts and I'm pretty sure its was not to tight. I can just turn it a little over 90 deg by hand.

Also does anybody have a spare they could/would part with?

part number
944-126-021-03-M100

Thanks for the input in advance

Sorry for the long winded post!
