Mine does a similar thing. But in drive D it manages to stay off. Then if I cycle the trans from R to P it will shut off in P. Otherwise it will remain on.
I did find a faulty relay... because they were never on at first. I replaced it and bingo I thought they are on... Whoops... they are on almost all the time now.
I think I will go back into the relay board and make sure the ground is properly connecting.
Any idea where the back up switch is? Or is it part of a PRND2 switch under the shifter area?
