Twitter is just a tool and it can be defined in many ways, all dependent on how it is used.
With much due respect, you seem to be having, what I would consider, a rare snap of narrow sightedness.
Must one decide on only one's actual, deep relationships
or "digital constructs"? I choose both and find each enhances the other.
Like you said initially, YMMV.
