Second vote for Roger being a great guy to deal with.
As for the tensioner, I recall the whole shebang costing somewhere around $400 by the time you get the rollers and everything you need. Rebuild kit price varies depending on how in depth you want to get with it. On the 78 you don't need to top it off with oil after it's installed, so the write ups I've seen mention cleaning, replacing the rubber boot and clamp and filling with oil. The Porkensioner seems to be the way to go if you've got the budget though.
