When I did my GT dash copy (welding up the radio hole and moving the gas guage that location) all I did was go to our local VW parts joint and buy a 2 1/16 guage off the shelf and plugged it in to the factory wiring. Works like a champ - when its full it reads full, and when the needle even touches the empty line I am walking home. I would pull it to get the part number, but I built an angled holder so it looks "GT" correct. It is a very tight fit and would be a real PITA to pull it out. I will see if I have the box and pass the number on.
