I have a box full of vintage Record, and thinking of stripping down my old Colnago of its Record and adapting an Ultegra group to the bike. I'll then have two vintage Record groups. Someone told me the Record group on the Colnago is second only to pantographed Campy record.

All I know is I want the Colnago crit quick n' ready. Sure, friction shifting is suave rico, but when you're ass to elbows with sixty other dudes in a group, sound modern-day gear changes are needed.
