More Campagnolo stuff
I was in need of some grips for the commuter bike this evening, started digging around the goodie bin and I found these buried under a stack of bars and seatposts:
Looks like I bought 'em in 1992 for $6.95 each, never mounted them (I don't remember why not, but now I'm glad I didn't,)

I'd mount 'em up to my bike for a crit race. Anything you can do to get weird looks, confuse and break the focus of your opponents is an advantage.

oberst - that stuff's worth a few bucks.
I have a box full of vintage Record, and thinking of stripping down my old Colnago of its Record and adapting an Ultegra group to the bike. I'll then have two vintage Record groups. Someone told me the Record group on the Colnago is second only to pantographed Campy record. All I know is I want the Colnago crit quick n' ready. Sure, friction shifting is suave rico, but when you're ass to elbows with sixty other dudes in a group, sound modern-day gear changes are needed.

After I read this I pondered for a moment whether or not I could even ride with friction anymore, and I decided that I would probably suck at it, I'm so used to index.
I'll leave it for the youngsters, they can "discover" friction when they get tired of fixies. ![]() (ps) lucky you with two record gruppos.
