I"m not looking for solutions but I thought I would share what I found on my Mom's car while getting ready to work on her brakes. I think salt build up got under the chrome and started the process. I sanded/ground off what I could and left the rest alone. It was only one wheel, BTW.
The wheels are aftermarket(Detata) and came on the car when she bought it used a few years ago.
