If you delete it you need to put in a 14" or 16" electric fan. It is not necessary to upgrade the radiator, thermostat and fan temp sensor.
The hp gain is practically zero. You will gain a bit more ease of reving.
You will remove a common failure item which is the plastics fan blades which can break and cut rad hoses.
