That's why I'm on my 3rd set of NT01's- they behave just like the old RA1 when shaved. But nothing like the original. The RA1 was always respectable in the wet, the Nitto is not.
And FWIW- Nitto is a subsidiary of Bridgestone which is why the RA1 carsass morped into the NT01. Same tire, different tread cut, very small difference it rubber compound. Oh, and cheaper too.
