Mine are black so I don't have the problem but I think an idea came to mind.
Uh-huh, I had an idea. take a look at a child seat that has the seat belt "holder" attached. If you could attach something like that with velcro it would be reversible.
If you can, check a junkyard as some cars have these retainer thingys built into the seat.
