My local dealer recommends the IMS Retrofit.
Caveat: I am on Charles vender list and all of my engine
rebuilds have the IMS Retrofit installed.
A couple months back I was talking to the local Porsche dealerships head mechanic. It was the first time I had talked to him and we were talking
about the M96 engine rebuilds that I was doing. He told me
to check out those "IMS Retrofits some guy in California is selling -- we've
done several and highly recommend them".
I told him I knew about the IMSRs, used them, and that Charles was actually out of Illinois :-)
He was very complementary on the quality of the kit and the ease of installing.
So YMMV when you approach your dealership.
