Hi Jim,

I'm a long-time WSB fan and TBH I think BMW performance to date has been very good. Not excellent, that would be Aprilia, but pretty good.

The other teams have 20 years of WSC racing development, research and racetrack knowledge, logic and tech to fall back on. Just the suspension settings and development over the years alone would give a team an upper edge.

Aprilia has the advantage of WSB and MGP experience not to mention some 20 plus titles.

But while BMW cannot at first kick out of the paddock match the Aprilia, Big 4 and Ducati they have done the next best thing - they beat them (all) on the overall package in terms of first kick on the sales floor and are posting good top ten results.

Read the mags and be honest, who would have thought such a feat out of the gate by BMW was possible. Aprilia yes since they did it before with the RSV, KTM maybe, BMW - even I'm surprised.

Add to this a top development rider like Troy and the winningest team leader in Tardozzi and the future looks bright.
