What year is your C4?? The best advise I can give is to buy the 964 repair manual and get the Durametric's cable if you plan on owning one of these cars. There is a book called "The 964 owners companion" it's about $60 and it worth every penny.


Back to you problem, The 964 uses a high pressure system to controll the power brakes, the drive lock system (PDAS) and the the clutch. If the accumulator fails the brakes will not have power assist, and you may see a warning light on the dash, or here a alarm beep?I could be a failed pump, a high presure switch, or the accumulator.
