I have lived in Maryland for the last 40 years and average about 50000 miles per year and nothing surprises me at all what the state troopers do in this state. They use to have radar/laser traps the had the cops in the cherry pickers and about 1/4 mile down the road, have 4-8 cops on the side of the road pulling people over by stepping in front of speeding cars. They don't do that anymore for rather obvious reasons. There are a couple of safe places on the shore to hit the triple digits but you had better not speed more than 10 over because that gun could be pointed at you and I do not mean laser or radar gun. I did notice in the video that the cyclist also had a marked trooper behind him also so the gun pulling off duty cop did not make his move until he had a backup, should have had the marked vehicle do the traffic stop. I do not have anything against the MD State Police officers, generally just doing their job which is to protect the public and give as many tickets as possible for the revenue. They also have to enforce all the stupid laws that the MD legislature passes.
