I noticed you had a post about 6 months ago re: California Competition and Classics LLC of San Diego. I read the replies but I'm curious if you learned anything further.

Frankly I'm a little surprised at how low a couple of their prices are and the replies to your post didn't do a lot to allay my concerns. I've found nothing on BBB, but as an out-of-state buyer I'd feel better with a positive referral. Alternatively, have you come across a good contact in San Diego/LA whom you could point me to?

My plan is to have the vehicle inspected prior to purchase in any event.

Separately, could you tell me how I could go about verifying VIN/chassis numbers for these older cars, as a potential buyer. I think you could go thru Porsche but I had heard you might need to own it already.
