Stone guard... aaagain.

I found some info on this but not quite what I was looking for.

I'm in the process of blocking my first coating of 2K primer and have not sprayed any Wurth stone guard on the rocker areas yet. Fender wells are done! (I'm going with the rocker delete option)
How should I procede? My thoughts are to block this first coating (I'm using 220 dry) and then tape off and spray the rocker areas with chipguard, then coat with last coating of 2K, then paint. my concern with this aproach is: I won't be able to sand the primer on the rockers before paint. How is this usually done?

FYI, I'm using the SKS sprayed from a gun.
