Pig in a poke. An engine like that could have crap on the valves and it is cold to boot. It may just be fine! That said, I wouldn't spend more than a grand over core value on anything that sits on a pallet unless it has very good results. Why not get a high mileage donor at core value and go through it, so you will know what you have? Or if you don't want that, get a running engine in a vehicle that can be listened to and returns good dynamic and leak down compression numbers.
