Tebow ran 40 yards for a touchdown Sunday in the first quarter, stunning the Oakland Raiders defense by breaking through on a quarterback draw that came with the Broncos facing a third-and-24 play.

It was the longest run from scrimmage this season by a Broncos player and the longest run by a quarterback for a touchdown in team history. Tebow's TD run eclipsed the previous record by a Denver quarterback of 38 yards by Bubby Brister in 1998.

Controversial first-round draft pick Tim Tebow solidified his claim for a piece of that future last week, rallying Denver from a 17-point halftime deficit against Houston to a 24-23 victory, his first as an NFL starting quarterback.

Tebow threw for a career-best 308 yards and a touchdown and also ran for a score against the Texans.

-Only five quarterbacks that are now in the Hall of Fame have thrown 300 yards games during their rookie seasons: Troy Aikman, John Elway, Jim Kelly, Dan Marino, and Warren Moon. All of them had their rookie seasons during the 1980s.
