Bunch of nagging projects to do on the 944. Was hoping to hit 200k miles before doing them, but the nagging front crank and lower balance shaft seals were leaking pretty bad. Then, the day after it rolled over 190k, the idle motor quit. That was the sign I needed.
Called up my nice local import parts house with a laundry list of parts needed. Ended up replacing everything under the intake and between the radiator and the motor. My water pump had almost 100k on it and quite frankly, it still looks and feels darn good. (updated pump, 87 na). Replaced all the hoses, belts, idlers, vacuum lines, resealed the injectors, new intake gaskets, new idle control motor, flushed the cooling system. Pretty much anything I touched that was even marginal got replaced.
Tomorrow morning I need to change the oil and then clean up. The shop is filthy now.
