While I'm at it.......The used sway bar (27mm) I have came with a post on the outer bushing. How do I mount this on my 83 944? Mine has a strap over the bushing.
The ends are the same diameter as the bushings in the early sway bars. I've put the larger one from the 86 I parted out on the front of my 83 with no problems. Even put the rear sway bar on.

You do need to fix any oil and power steering leaks as these can rot out the rubber bushings should you decide to go that way.

When was the last time you changed your timing and balance belts and/or cam chain and tensioner?
