the carpet set in these cars consisted (can't recall exact #) of about 15 pieces.....some of which were glued down, some "removable" as the front pass/driver's sides (front & rear).
under the carpet is a "lining" of dense foam secured by a glue from "hell" which requires lot of scraping/chemicals/heat to remove.

depending on wear/tear of the 964 in question & mileage & and whether water was entering/had entered the underlining will show varying amounts of deterioration. but based on the age of these cars some deterioration is likely.
sorry have no picture of lining....but this was my carpets from last car (92 roadster).....the original owner & i always used 2nd porsche mat over factory carpet.
